Tech questions on dorm lan

I plan on bringing a couple of computers - maybe playing games and one for hosting files off of. What kind of setup do you recomend for this?

You will get 1 IP address for sure, but most likely you should be able to get another IP address for your other computer. Make sure you bring a switch/hub so you can share the 1 port in the room.

You just hook up the computers to the hub, enter IP stuff and you are on the net. You can then do whatever you want (within reason).

I know other people who have brought a router that shares connections. This will work as well, but the only problem is that you will have to set it up to allow outsite connections to your different machines.
