Darn... No Java!

Dang! While there are plenty of intro Java classes, unfortunately, there's a lack of intermediate/advanced Java! (Sucks, as I took intro Java last year) I don't know much C++, just cin/cout, but if I'm pretty solid on the fundamentals of Java/computer programming in general, would I be OK if I went into the Intermediate C++ class, cause that'd be great.

(Answers from either students who've taken the class, or teachers/the person teaching it would be appreciated!)

In all honesty, you probably could - while the actual syntax is different, the concepts are generally similar.

However, I would caution that you should be very sound with those concepts. Also, the actual structure/content of the classes are changing, so you might want to e-mail Tony Nicholson (tonynich@umich.edu), the lead instructor for Intermediate C++.

Yeah, i jumped straight to intermediate C++ one year. Enough of the concepts were reviewed for me to catch on fast. I think you could do it.

Unfortunately, it turns out that I can only go 3rd session, and Advanced C++ is out of my reach, but Web Workshop 2.0 sound fun as well!

The classes for this year are slightly different and themed. So if you want to learn Java they might cover some more specific material. But Web Workshop 2.0 should alsobe very interesting

Consider Web Workshop 2.0 or WebTech Evolution. Those are the sort of "off-branches" of the traditional web design class. If you end up taking Webtech Evolution, I can tell you we have a lot planned for that class :).
