Sony has really made it hard on themselves because people will be coming to the stores this holiday season looking at a good solid console that won't make the go broke. That is why I think the 360 will win because it combines solid franchises like Halo and Grand Theft Auto with awsome new franchises like Gears of War, Bioshock, Too Human and more. It also has killler online and it cost 200 dollars less. SOme might ask well why won't the Wii win. THat is because most of the games suck and the controller is the most stupid idea ever. THe console has some good ideas and at such a low price it will definately sell but the problems I listed above will hold it back from reach victory over the battle hardened 360. :)

Yes, the Xbox360 must be battle-hardened, since it's known so well for overheating.

Well, I am a die-hard Nintendo fan, and the Wii (crappy name) looks... REALLY DORKY! I mean, that retard nunchuck controller makes you look like a moron playing that.

I actually think its a interesting innovation.

Nobody walking down the street is going to be looking in through your living room window. And you can use a gamecube controller.

I'm actually pretty surprised with how close-minded people are being with the next-gen consoles. I own a 360... it's a good console. Better than the PS3 hopes to be... the thing is just too big and slow (in terms of loading speed and HD-reading, not graphics and such.) Not to mention its price(600~USD), online fee(~30USD/month), and game fee(~99USD).
The Wii is innovative, intuitive, and cheap. For what people estimate to be ~200USD, it's definately affordable. Games shown early Rev. unveiling were unimpressive, but with games such as Prime III and Twilight Princess, and Red Steel at launch I think that the Wii will do extremely well. You don't look rediculous playing the Wii, either. A simple Google Search will show demos at E3 of how it works... that being small movements go a long way. You (quite obviously) don't need to dive-roll across the room like the people in Nintendo advertisements.
Personally, I have to agree with the people at Microsoft: people should buy an Xbox 360 and a Wii instead of a PS3.

Yes, the games are indeed impressive, I'm just saying I don't like the idea of the controller. And the name. "Revolution" trumps the "Wii" any day of the week.

Actually the 360 is 400 USD - 500 USD depending on what you buy and online is 50 USD a year.

I think that the best one is indefinate. If you like classic games like mario stuff, get the Wii, if you like bloody war and sports games, get the 360, and if you, umm, like spending lots of movey or are obsessed with sony, get the PS3.

Err.. I bought the premium 360 for < 400. Getting Oblivion set me at about $400. Yes, Xbox Live is $50 a month, but the console prices were not correct.

because nintendo has never done real online except for a few games on the ds so it probably won't be that good while microsoft has a great online system with many things to do. Also nintendo's online s not entirely free.

Besides completely ignoring Phantasy Star Online, saying that the history of Nintendo's online work has a significant bearing on its future is like basing Diablo's inception of Battle.net on Blizzard's previously TCP/IP and IPX/LAN only online connection methods.
Also, Microsoft is beginning to lean heavily on computers as the dominant game platform again, meaning whatever hardware and online service the Xbox series happen to have right now will soon be around on Windows.

A.dante, $99 a game, only $60 here m8, you must be importing the games from Japan.
B. PS3 is too expensive.
C. What other console allows you to use a flight stick?
D. Over-G Fighter = best console game ever.
E. dedicated graphics as opposed to the PS3 which is always multitasking.
F. refer to above comment as this trumps anything.(dedicated graphics+processor to game insures the fastest possible game power as opposed to a computer, PS3, or Wii which have all of this extra junk to manage internet and the various other accessories built into it. This dedicated power makes The 360 perform better than a computer of better build. For example, My computer has 1.5x proccessing power of the 360 and 2x the graphics and it still is constantly outperformed by my 360 in terms of speed and smoothness.
