Xbox hook-up theory: Xbox's are linked together either with the "official" link cord from the big $M, or you can use a regular ethernet cord, and hook your xbox's to a hub, therefore creating a network for them to say hi 2 each other and chat. Â*The idea is that we hook up our xbox's in our rooms to a hub along with all our big fast computers, and the hub naturally hooks into the wall (network). Â*This connects the hub to the BIG network at UofM. Â*(this is where the theory part comes in) Hopefully this would mean that all the xbox's would see each other on this network and be able 2 chat it up (launch Halo games http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif). Â*....comments? anyone?

It IS possible to pretend to see the image, but you'd probably want TVs to use too.........
As I said in the other topic, my computer can be used sometimes, but don't expect to always have access.
Anyways, we're at a computer camp - let's play computer games.

Couldn't you just use the Microsoft cable (or a regular CAT-5) and plug it into the network jack?

Well, it depends....if the network acts like a hub then yea that would probably be fine. Â*I guess we just gotta experiment.
(TV's are a DUH for using a video game console)
But yes, i'm looking forward 2 playing some big Halo games, AND some computer games.....I like to keep a little variaty in my gaming systems and games -_^

I know for a fact that you'll be able to simply use a CAT-5 cable and plug in to the wall like normal. I'll be by myself in the dorm, but I'll bring my hub and an extra network cable so you can use the xbox in my room from time to time.

Theres a LOT of computer software available(most free) that can network xboxs and play xbox games online. Just take cat5/cat6(faster) network cable and connect the xboxes if you want to play online and connect to Umichs network.
Heres some links to guide you:

Or you can use the microsoft xbox connector cable!
I hope this helps!
