I was wondering if anyone wanted to volenteer to help me on my latest project, ArcBB! It's a version of PHPBB thats all modded and cool. (www.arcbb.info) i also have a sourceforge site http://sourceforge.net/projects/arcbb/
I need some people who are familiar with mods for phpbb. i want to make an automatic updater. It would check and with permission download and update the installation. I am currently in the beta 1 stage. Please email me @ anandcomputerphreak{AT}gmail{DOT}com :D :D :D :D

I'm somewhat familiar with PHPBB, and could probably help with what you're talking about, but I'm mostly curious why you'd willingly install PHPBB or a spinoff on any webserver you're expecting to break the 5-hits-per-month barrier?
It's pretty chunky and from what I recall, extremely slow in benchmarks. I've never seen a serious forum over 5k posts using PHPBB, it's just low quality.

Look into SMF, Simple Machines Forum, it's a much better alternative, IMHO

unless you're too far into your project, you may want to consider modding a way better, more moddable and open source forum/bulletin board called SMF (www.simplemachines.org)
