I was just wonder, in the new locale (Bates I think?) is there still only one LAN connection per room, or do we actually have two real ones this time? If we still only have one, will this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833124005)do?

Yes, any hub or network switch will work. I'm not sure how many ethernet jacks are in each room, though.

I believe there is one in each room, again.

But, I have another question. Obviously, last year's setup for internet access sucked, with the "lolz log in andz it w1ll w0rK" method that completely failed.

What's going on this year, does anyone know? Will we be assigned a bundle of IP address and be sent on our merry way, or will it be the same as last year *gulp*.

Internet will be back to normal without last years early problems!

What was the problem last year anyway? That was pretty freaking annoying.

Well, it's good to get the intarweb in the dorms, any free LAN games? Or is there any way we can get CS on to our computers?

hubs are also available for free from the bates front desk (just ask a staff member). Games are available for free for LAN use only at http://caenstaff.com/jon
Also, I plan to setup dedicated counter-strike servers so hopefully people can connect to them from anywhere on north campus.
