So, guess who got bored?? Yup, me. http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I had set up some binary decoder a while ago (takes binary, formats it into ASCII as best as it can). I made it for a reason you all shall not know http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Anyways, I knew the binary code under the logo had to mean something, and it turns out, it does. '1337.html'.

So, where is this 1337.html file? Nowhere I could find. Or is that just some silly thing that you guys thought nobody would ever discover?? http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

BTW...just so you guys know I'm not kidding...go here (http://www.planet-nebula.com/decode.php?code=0011000100110011001100110011011100 10111001101000011101000110110101101100). And, yes, it is PHP, which I am rather fond of ;)

/me waits for applause...or blank stares

Wow, I'm impressed Jeff. The 1337.html was going to be a little contest run "unofficially" (that may change), but to be honest we didn't think anyone would catch it until the real site went live and the message boards became more active. I think all I can really say is that 1337.html was going to provide a segway in to a Camp CAEN easter egg hunt, which you found the first one of (*props*).

With that being said, there is something more...you just have to find it http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

/me wonders if he should have kept this secret http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

this is how they made the frontpage binary logo, whoch greg posted on an earlier thread:

</span>Quote[/b] ]<span style='color:white'>Originally posted by GPeszek:
Actually, we have Justin's and Matt Pugh's 1337 PHP skills to thank. Â*Essentially we turned the jpg to ascii art PHP pareser that Matt used for the advanced web class this year and made it so that the only two characters it used was 1 and 0 (randomly chosen, of course). Â*We then fed it the CAEN logo, took a screen shot of the web browser, then scaled the image down.

Although typing them out would have been fun too.</span><span =''>

hmmm.... &quot;(randomly chosen, of course).&quot; sounds suspicious to me http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Actually, the thing they are talking about there is the CAEN logo on the main page, not the message board logo IIRC...

Good luck, and happy hunting...

Don't share information, there may be a &quot;happy prize&quot; waiting for you at the end.

The H is O... (The hunt... is on)
