Overview (http://cube.ign.com/articles/377/377330p1.html)

IGN just broke some of the biggest news in gaming to come for a long, long time. Capcom is currently developing, not 1, not 2, not eve 4, but 5 of what seem to be some of the most unique, and if not unique, then still amazing, games I have seen in a long time.

Resident Evil 4: Ok, so this one isn't quite unique. But can you say "looks every bit as good as the pre-rendered 1 remake, and 0 on Gamecube but in real-time 3d"? Looks to be scarier, better, more fun, and just plain beautiful, with of course a great story.

Dead Phoenix: Your usual flight-action game (as in Panzer Dragoon on XBox), and Capcom is promising a whole lot of depth. One aspect is actually making the wind have a huge effect on you. This is the one I'm least interested in of the 5 until we get some more info.

Product Number 03 (P.N.03): "The title, which starts a killer for hire named Vanessa Schneider, is overflowing with high-tech gadgetry, The Matrix-like moves, and some of the most beautiful graphics of any game to date. " (IGN) No details are really known about this game yet, but I watched the video, and it looks damn cool.

Killer 7: Can you say "simply the best use of cel-shading ever"? My god, look at the screens of this game (linked below), picture graphics that good running in motion, add in plenty of blood and gore, and finally:
</span>Quote[/b] ]Of all the titles debuted at Capcom's press conference, held earlier today in Tokyo, this was probably the most intriguing as far as being a bit different from the rest of the pack is concerned. killer 7, a so-called &quot;Hard Boiled Action Adventure&quot; title, sees you take on the role of an elderly hero who happens to be confined to a wheelchair.
Oh yeah, he's also schizophrenic. In all, the main character seems to have seven different personalities for use through the game, which takes the form of a &quot;Crime Story&quot; of sorts. How this will work into an actual game is anyone's guess at this point. While the trailer clip shown today reveals one of the most stylish uses of cell shading we've ever seen, we couldn't tell if we were looking at gameplay or pure cinematics.

Viewtiful Joe: Yet another freeking amazing use of cel shading. I cannot even describe how awesome this game looks in motion. IM me at dLMN8R, ICQ me at 25493940, I'll give you my IGN Insider username/password so you can check the videos out. I'm still in awe.

Oh, all these games are EXCLUSIVE to Gamecube. Is GC finally getting the just-plain-cool-to-own games that it needs so badly? Fighting: check. Flight: check. Unique action/adventure with the best cel-shading around: check.

Capcom has been in a pretty big slump lately, but next year they will almost undoubtedly be one of the biggest game companies around.

Stan: If you want to post something critical in reply to this - send it to me privately. I know how you hate good Gamecube news.

sigh....if only I had money so I could buy more games. Besides, I still feel that the PSX is the best system out there. Graphics aside, I like rpg's and there just isn't anything out there besides Final Fantasy X for the High Gen Systems (they are no longer next, they've been here for over a year). Once again, my two cents.

*goes back to playiong final fantasy 6 on psx*

Final Fantasy 6 = best RPG ever, no questions asked. I still play it on my SNES emu today (yes, I actually played it when it first came out on N64 http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif )

Yet another reason to get gamecube, super mario sunshine, though it may not seem like it would be good (cleaning up the environment etc) it's frickin' sweet.
