Hey everyone,

Approvals for the programming projects were sent out today. Â*The programming project (http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/general.html) is required for the advanced classes only, if you did not apply for an advanced class don't worry about the project.

However, if you did apply for an advanced class but did not recieve an email (saying either that your program has been approved, needs work, or was not submitted), please contact us. Â*If you have not submitted your program yet, please do so as soon as possible (deadline is May 17th) so that we may approve your application.

Thanks!
-Greg

Yeah, the methods for handling the advanced programs is a bit buggy this year. Sorry about the mix up!

Just to clarify, if you did get an email because either you haven't submitted a program, have bugs with your program, or sent it and it got lost, your application is still in and you still have a spot in the class. Â*If you decide not to take the advanced class and would like to switch, please email campcaen@engin.umich.edu or call (734) 936-8039.

just a note to help with the grading of the projects. It is best if you email the source code to the appropriate place, and make it so that it is a commandline interface, for easier testing. I volunteered to grade some of the projects (those for my class mainly) and meeting the above criteria helped immensely. One program spanned six pages and took me about two hours just to input due to the confusing nature of the code on the paper. Another I actually messed up inputting, and accidently wrote it off as being incorrect until i realized my mistake and redid it. Again, not a requirement, but it sure helped me.
