Our new "Coming Soon" website is now online at http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/. Â*This site features a showcase of student projects from 2002 and some general information about Camp CAEN 2003. Â*Currently some of the projects from the Web Workshop and Digital Art & Design classes are online. Â*We will be adding projects from the other classes to this page as time goes on.
All of the other pages except for the index are going to evolve into the main 2003 website over time. Â*We will add information such as dates and classes for 2003 as they become finalized, and also add employment information and staff/CIT applications fairly soon.
Please post any comments that you have on the site here, and we'll do what we can to address them. Â*Keep checking the site and this message board for 2003 information.
Thank you for your continued support of Camp CAEN http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

How did you make that background with all the 0s and 1s? Some ASCII Art thingy?? Good lord, please don't bother telling me you typed it out one by one, I won't believe it http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Actually, we have Justin's and Matt Pugh's 1337 PHP skills to thank. Essentially we turned the jpg to ascii art PHP pareser that Matt used for the advanced web class this year and made it so that the only two characters it used was 1 and 0 (randomly chosen, of course). We then fed it the CAEN logo, took a screen shot of the web browser, then scaled the image down.
Although typing them out would have been fun too.

Greg is too fast for me, so I'll just edit my post down to this:
It was an enjoyable night for all http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

What's the name of the ASCII Generator? I use something called 'UnXpected'...

As near as I know, it doesn't have a name. Â*It was a very simple PHP script. Also, Matt and I made modifications to it to make it do this logo.

ah, funfunfun. Good work, BTW. Very nice. Countdown script is awesome. It'd be nice if it started before the page was completely loaded, or if it didn't use images ;) But it's still very nice ;)
