Please let us know if you would be interested in attending camp for 3 weeks. Â*Your classes would be 3 weeks and you would be in the dorms for 2 weekends. Â*Could you all afford this? Â*Would your parents be interested.

Please let us know...just some ideas we are thinking about.

Sounds like a good idea. When camp is only two weeks long, I notice a few things about why it should be longer:

You learn just enough to get your final project done, but don't always have a firm understanding of everything, and WHY things are the way they are.

It seems like over the (only) weekend of camp and in the next couple of days are the times when most people make some friends at camp, and it would be fun to be able to hang out with them for more than just a few more days.

That would be great! We get two weekends, which means we have to do WhirlyBall both weekends.

Dan,
this is a GREAT idea. I think the few extra days would be enough to cement a LOT more knowledge and cover a LOT more material.
My only concern is the economic problems...
about $700 more is what I work out (if everything is on a week-by-week basis, which I doubt severly)... It would be an interesting thing to send out a newsletter about, however... se what parents think about paying :-)

I guess money could be a problem, just not here. http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

3 week session idea absoulutely rules. Â*Also, if you guys aren't sure which session should be 3 weeks long...I think it should be session #2 http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

3 weeks would also give us much more time to learn stuff, and that's what the camp is all about, eh?

I think a three week session would be a great idea. two weeks never seems like enough time (of course 3 weeks prolly won't be either :P )

Awesome yes! But really... do you think that anyone (and yes I mean anyone) could put up with me running down the halls screaming, and/or singing phantom at the top of my lungs with rick and Dan? Or...or... another week for cory and sam to do more nasty things? Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh.
But then again, it would give us more time to setup a JKII: Outcast tournament. Oh by the way, Dan, when I get a free moment to record "The Cackle" (meaning when no parents or neighbors are around to wake up and/or call the police,) I'll make sure to send it to you.

Its only alot of mony if you are dorming so if you offer the 3 week session for commuters only it would be more affordible for people.

I think you're getting Web Workshop 2 (http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/insession/web_workshop2/) mixed up with the Advanced Web (http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/insession/web_applications/) class. Â*The former one was just an intermediate (css/javascript) class, the latter was the advanced (php/sql) class Â*http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Definately a yes. Being at a camp that is so much fun can never be too long. Also, more stuff to learn :-). The more the better.

Just a quick question - how much would the costs go up if Camp CAEN were to do that?

3 weeks seems good...

by the way,
all of u are too friggin' rich

yeah, perhaps a lot of us are too rich. But why not? One weekend is way too short as weekends are awesom http://campcaen.engin.umich.edu/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

By the way, if we did make it three weeks sessions, how many sessions would there be? Would it be session one and two and then having a commuter only third session?

Maybe they'd have one three week session overlaid on top of the normal sessions that would be seperate from the normal sessions, but we'd stay in the same dorms obviously. IT would be kind of like being in different classes than everyone else, except we wouldn't come to camp and leave at the same time.
